The Power of Persuasion Can Make You Filthy Rich

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

There are many ways to achieve power and it is not only through force. Sometimes, the ability to persuade someone will make that person do just about anything without the need for violence.

There are many people who have used diplomacy to achieve a certain objective. The power of persuasion, then, really depends on what the individual has on hand. This could be information that the person wants or needs, which is usually in the form of reward or punishment.

A good example could be a bank robber who has a gun and threatens to shoot anyone who does not follow the instructions he gives. Another could be a police cruiser going on the freeway and has the power to ask a driver to pull over for speeding or making any traffic violation. This can also happen in the workplace, where an employee can be fired after a major screw-up.

The desire for power grows as one ages. Psychologists who have done studies believe that being in control makes the person feel strong, invincible, and, more often than not, exhilarated.

So how can the power of persuasion make one filthy rich? Put simply, those who are able to sell the benefits and features of a certain product will be able to close more deals than someone who is not that focused.

In fact, some of the best people that do this are sales agents and it does not matter if the individual is selling insurance, a car, or a piece of property. Sometimes, the power of persuasion is merely letting the customer hear what he or she wants and the rest is history.

A recent market study has shown that 26% of this country’s gross domestic product, or GDP, is attributed to the power of persuasion. This makes the employees the backbone of any organization. If not for strategic thinkers and planners, advertising and other marketing activities will never work.

Unfortunately, not everyone wields the power of persuasion. This has to be harnessed in order for it to grow. Those who have never sold anything before will have to attend product presentations, as well as learn from the more experienced employees within the company.

After making a few mistakes and even finding a personal style on how to deal with the customer, there is a chance that more sales will be made and money will start to come in, thus, making one very productive.

The power of persuasion is also considered to be a golden ticket for a promotion. This means the individual won’t be out in the field that much anymore and, instead, find himself or herself busy with coaching and motivating the new recruits, and even get commissions at the same time.

Anyone can become a master communicator. The priest who preaches at Sunday masses, the captain in an aircraft, and even the average Joe who is not that affluent but is doing quite well given the circumstances can get a message across without much trouble.

Being able to persuade and influence is what makes the difference between someone who hopes to have a better income than one who already does. The person may not get it right the first time; but with a little practice and the ability to recognize opportunities when these present themselves, the individual will be able to make a lot of money and, in the end, become filthy rich.

Does envy and calling names help? No. That is negative. Positive is to appreciate the qualities that could help them big money. Right attitude is to learn how to earn big money. The method of earning money and how to attract more of it. What to do that brings wealth to me, should be the question and not that I don’t want more money than I need to live. If you don’t want, at least earn it and then donate it. Nothing stops you doing that.

Enhancing Your Money Consciousness

Monday, September 28th, 2009

How money conscious are you? Do you know where your salary goes to each month or do you spend indiscriminately, sometimes to the point of being broke at the end of the month?

The following paragraphs will help enhance your money consciousness. In more ways than one, these moneymaking thoughts may sound like proverbs, but they are very encouraging.

1. Change your thinking habit from earning daily (in small amounts) to earning by transactions or deals (in big amounts). Turn on your money-conscious mind to attract more money into your life. You will learn more of this in the next sections of this book.

2. No one else will determine your future except yourself. Either you get up or sink down from where you are now. This can be determined on how you mold your thoughts. To be weak or strong, rich or poor, you decide your own fate. The effect of your thoughts eventually affect your life.

3. If you’re broke, that doesn’t mean you’re poor. You may be rich but you may be broke. You see, being broke is short-lived. Being poor is long term. You are broke only for a certain period of time, but being poor without doing anything to alleviate your condition in life makes it permanent.

4. Learn to decide intelligently. It is a must in moneymaking. Practice this trait in small ways and work your way up gradually until you have the courage to apply it in big ways.

5. Take failure as a chance to get smarter and stronger, by learning from it. Don’t let failure defeat you. Get inspired by it and eventually, you will turn up to be a winner.

6. Sometimes, we want others to change their attitudes but we have no control over them. It’s easier to change oneself, if we have self-control.

7. Having more money does not necessarily mean more wealth. Sometimes, more money sinks us deeper to debt. Consider lottery winners who end up where they started after some time because of their compulsive spending and inability to properly manage their money.

8. Learn to master the power of money by having control over it. Once money has control over you, you become a slave to it.

9. Be creative and open to new ideas. Sometimes, we are so used to doing what the majority are doing that we completely close our minds to new ideas. Take for instance on a hot summer day, you will drink something cold to cool you down. You wouldn’t think of drinking something hot because it will make you feel hotter and besides, a cold drink on a hot summer day is the common thing people do. But did you know that drinking something hot on a hot summer day helps to make you perspire and take the heat out of your system thus making you feel cool, although this is not the standard that most people follow? Just what does this have to do with creating wealth? Following set rules and procedures, and not deviating from what the majority are doing, discourages creativity. If you need to be different from the majority for the sake of financial success, so be it.

There are many other things you can do to enhance your money consciousness. Be creative and you will think of them. But in the meantime, start with any of the above and you will be able to cultivate that habit.
